Biography Matthew Rivera, also known as MattWithADream, was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He is the first in his family to graduate from college, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Trinity College. While at Trinity, Matthew served as President, for three years, of the Men of Color Alliance. During his tenure, he was committed to leaving an impact both on campus and in the greater Hartford community as he partnered with various churches, nonprofits, schools, and community leaders to serve and implement programming.
Matthew is currently the Executive Director of The Dream Support Network, a full service organization whose mission is to inspire, educate, and support individuals as they discover, restore, empower, activate, and manifest dreams that know no bounds. The Dream Support Network offers Ice Cream For a Dream, Dream Consultations, Motivational speeches, The Dream Chasers Curriculum, and other services to support individuals as they chase their dreams. Through the Dream Support Network, Matthew has worked with over 40 schools across the state of Connecticut, delivered over 100 speeches, and exchanged over 40,000 ice creams for dreams. He currently serves as a Licensed Minister at Union Baptist Church of Hartford and is the Lead Coordinator of the Young Adult Ministry. Additionally, Matthew is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and sits on the board for his chapter’s nonprofit, BSL Educational Foundation. For his work in the community, Matthew has been awarded the Bantam Community Service Award at Trinity College, is a Newman Civic Fellow, has received a Proclamation from Hartford’s Mayor Luke Bronin, and is a part of the 2021 Class of the 100 Men of Color. Matthew is a motivational speaker by nature and enjoys sharing insight and perspective that he’s gathered on his journey.
