I hate bugs. Highest on my list of hated bugs is the gnat. I really dislike the way gnats bother me when I'm minding my own business outside, walking the dog or doing yard work. I swat at the gnats but they come back. I spray stuff at the gnats but they come back. The only time the gnats can't buzz in my ears and fly around my face is when I wear my safari hat with the ear covers and sunglasses. The other day, while waking my dog with no hat and sunglasses, a few gnats started bothering me. Buzzzzz to my ear, SWAT by me. Seconds later, BUZZZZZ to my other ear. SWAT and cursing the gnat by me. The gnat battle went on and on as we walked down the street. As I walked, I got to thinking. My first thought was, with all this world, all this space for this small bug, why is it messing with me? Then this thought came to me...
What if the gnat was trying to tell me something? What if I really listened and the gnat was saying to me, "Don't give up on your dreams". Or, "You are great!" Or even, "Believe in yourself, you have so much potential". "Wow", for a few minutes I thought about what the gnats were trying to say to me. I listened intensely. For a moment, I really locked in and then I realized that gnats don't speak English and there is no way I'm learning gnat so I swatted at them again and continued my walk. True story.
