As the summer is heating up, so is Ice Cream for a Dream. This summer, we are working with youth from Blue Hills Civic Association teaching them about Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy. We are using Ice Cream for a Dream to teach philanthropy and selling the Dream Hero to teach entrepreneurship. Throughout the five week program, seven different groups will join us for Ice Cream for a Dream. This week we went out with the "Fab Five".
Also, this summer, we are collaborating with Mega Education in their summer tour of all the local libraries to promote reading. It was so hot on Wednesday, I had Janlewis work the truck for me while I ate lunch on the side. That's O.K. with me. Lastly, I have started the process of looking for a new truck. Our current truck has been having many issues. I saw a truck online in South Windsor so I drove up. Looked around and saw the perfect replacement truck. The salesman came out and informed me that the truck was sold. Dang! We get to talking and I tell him about Ice Cream for a Dream and what we do. Bob tells me that they get new trucks all the time. We exchanged numbers and he stated he would call when the next truck comes in. We shook hands like five times as we continued to talk and depart. We said our final goodbyes and I got in my car. My head was down responding to a text from Dayeshell Muhammad when there was a knock on my window. It was Bob. He gave me $40 as a donation to Ice Cream for a Dream. Shoutout to Bob for supporting the dream! #neverstopdreaming Like I said, Great week for Ice Cream for a Dream! |
